In the line for the roller coaster or sitting quietly in my airplane seat at take-off, I often have strangers ask if they can hold my hand.
I always say “Yes.”
It brings me great pleasure to bring comfort and offer security in the midst of liminal moments - those spaces where we are filled with anticipation and know that much is out of our control.
